The drinking game with a rapidly rising alcohol level. – Drive the bus! All you need is a classic deck of cards. If you don't have a deck of cards ready, then feel free to take a look at our other drinking games. Alternatively, the bus driver drinking game is also available as an app. In addition to the card game, you need at least one more player. The more the merrier. Our recommendation: at least four people. Oh, and one more thing… This drinking game is more about luck than skill. 😉

What do you need for the 'Drive the bus' drinking game?

• Deck of 32 cards (deck of hearts, diamonds, etc. has 52 cards)
• Alcoholic beverages (e.g. beer, wine etc.)

How does it work?

There are three rounds in the 'Drive the bus' drinking game. There is a guessing round, the pyramid round and the bus ride.

Round 1 – guessing round

In the first round, every player gets four cards facing down (don't look). One question is asked for each card dealt. If you guess wrong, you have to drink!

• red or black? – Is your card red or black?
• higher or lower? – Is the value of your second card higher or lower than your first?
• inside or outside? – Is the value of your third card between or outside of the first two cards?
• Hearts, diamonds, clubs or spades? What color is your card?

So, the first round of the bus driver drinking game is done. Now it's time for the second round.

Round 2 - The Pyramid

Depending on how many player, you lay out a pyramid with 6 or 10 cards. There is one card in the top row, two below in the second row, three in the third, and possibly four in the fourth. The more cards are laid out, the more people drink. 😉

Now it's a matter of matching the cards in the pyramid with the cards of the players. This means if a 10 is found both in the laid out pyramid and on one of your four cards, you must take a sip. The aim is to have as few cards as possible at the end so that you don't have to be the bus driver.

You start with the left card in the bottom row by revealing it to everybody. If your cards match, the person playing must take a sip. The same procedure applies to the other rows, only the number of sips increases. In the second row you drink two, in the third three and in the fourth and last row four.

As soon as the pyramid has been completely uncovered, the player with the most cards that match with the cards of the pyramid loses and is the bus driver.

Round 3 – Drive the bus

The last round of the bus driver drinking game has it all! 16 cards are placed face down in a diamond on the table. In the first row there is one card, then two, then three, then four, then three, then two and then one again.

The loser starts at the top of the diamond and has to 'drive' to the end of the diamond.

First, the loser chooses one card per row, which are revealed one after another. Every time a card is turned up that shows a jack, queen, king or ace, the bus driver has to drink and start over. The drinking amount results from the number of cards. It gets more with every move. The already uncovered cards are replaced by new ones.

The bus driver drinking game is over when the opposite tip of the diamond has been reached. If the last card shows a picture, it also goes back to the beginning. This can get pretty frustrating after a while. Still, it's a ton of fun! 😊
